Goldstein Subaru Shares the Love with the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. Jim B. - Jim B.

This past May 2025 my wife and I attended the Albany Capital Center Gala for Animals. Were we very pleased to see Goldstein Subaru present a check to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society for over $40,000, as part of the Subaru share the Love annual event. I'm pleased but not suprised. Goldstein Subaru has been our dealer for sales and service since 1981. When I visit the dealership I always notice the table of donated pet food and supplies for the Furry Friends Food Pantry. I also notice the "Empties for Animals" collection van where anyone can drop off thier empty deposit bottles and cans so they can be donated to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. The sales manager tells me this has raised 10's of 1,000's of dollars over the years. Goldstein Subaru also sponsors adoptions events at the MHHS. Having adopted 3 pets myself I really appreciate the support Goldstein Subaru shows to the most worthy cause of caring for and helping others care for animals and pets.

Goldstein Subaru Loves to Care - A Strong Partnership with LLS & NYOH - L G.

I cannot say enough about how honored I am to be a part of the Subaru Family & being able to support my community in ways that I have never imagined! Since 2016, Subaru has partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) to provide warmth, love, and relief by delivering over 230,000 blankets along with patient care kits and encouraging messages of hope. Goldstein Subaru, together with the support of New York Oncology and through our partnership with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has been able to provide support to patients battling cancer and undergoing treatments -- helping them get through some of these toughest moments knowing that they are not alone! Personally, knowing people close to me that have gone through these tough times -- this truly meant everything to me to be able to support and encourage patients currently battling with cancer and treatments! Thank you again to Subaru and Goldstein Subaru for being more than just a car company and truly giving back to the community in such a positive and encouraging way!

EAGLE POINT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LOVES LEARNING AND GOLDSTEIN SUBARU - ROBERT P.

We want to thank Goldstein Subaru for your support of the Subaru Loves Learning program. Goldstein Subaru helped empower Eagle Point Elementary School’s teachers with essential learning tools and resources to make a difference in the lives of the students in our community. We truly couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for standing with us in our mission to further equity in education. Your partnership drives real change, and we look forward to continuing this important work with you in 2026.

My new best friend - Linda W.

On my latest visit to my favorite Subaru Dealership ( Goldstein Subaru) to get my forester serviced, I noticed a display for Mohawk Hudson Humane Society and Subaru Loves Pets. OMG, I knew this dealership did a lot for the community but I never realized how deep this sponsorship goes. I felt compelled to share my story because without seeing this display I wouldnt have adopted my new best friend. While waiting to get my Forester serviced, I noticed this display. (This display made think of my cat that I had to have euthanized a year prior and if it was time to embark on a new pet) These memories triggered a visit to the local shelter (Mohawk Hudson Humane Society). Upon my arrival, I noticed that the cat section of the shelter was not only sponsored by Goldstein Subaru, but it was named after them!!! Not only did I adopt my new cat that day, I also received a a Goldstein discount on my adoption!!! A full circle moment, which all happened because of a service visit at Goldstein Subaru!! Just wanted to share. L. Wallas

Subaru Loves The Earth- our first ever Arbor Day Foundation Event! - Stefanie G.

The Team at Goldstein Subaru was proud and honored to partner with Subaru loves the Earth and the Arbor Day Foundation to deliver 100 fresh, healthy trees to our Subaru owners for planting in our great community! The event day was so exciting watching the people who reserved their trees pick them up in our showroom and to listen to what planting the tree meant to them. We had Grandparents planting trees with their grandchildren, a young child with their Dad to plant this little tree together and watch it grow...another person told us what the Subaru brand meant to her and she was so excited to have this tree to plant in her yard.... another was a small tree to plant as a memorial to her pet... Subaru Loves Pets! ? We are so excited to host this event next year and continue to LOVE THE EARTH! Thank you Subaru ! We love being a member of the Subaru Family of Dealerships. The Team of Goldstein Subaru.

Goldstein Subaru Teams Up to Support Local Community - Karen D.

Imagine going without a coat, shoes, or even socks. For millions of children and adults experiencing homelessness and other urgent need situations across the country, even here in Albany, this is a harsh reality. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Goldstein Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Goldstein Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 02/12/2025, Goldstein Subaru donated 204 coats & 204 shoes/socks to Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.

Riley's Happily Ever After - Lauren C.

After spending over three years in our care, Riley, a sweet and resilient dog, finally found her forever home through a foster-to-adopt stay that began in October. We’re thrilled to share that her adoption has recently been finalized, marking the beginning of a joyful new chapter for Riley. Subaru’s support and the dedication of our partner, Goldstein Subaru, play a vital role in moments like these. With resources made possible through their generous promotions and adoption events, we’re able to give pets like Riley the time, patience, and care they need to transition into loving homes where they can thrive. We are profoundly grateful to Goldstein Subaru for helping us make happy endings like Riley’s a reality.

Gala Support... and Beyond! - Lauren C.

In October, Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (MHHS) had the pleasure of joining hands with Goldstein Subaru, a local partner dedicated to making a difference in the lives of animals and people in our community. At our 2024 gala, Goldstein Subaru presented MHHS with a generous donation of $31,192, a contribution that will have a lasting impact on the health and well-being of the animals in our care. With this support, we can provide essential services like spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchipping, ensuring each pet receives the veterinary care they need as they embark on their journey to a loving home. Our heartfelt thanks go out to Goldstein Subaru for their commitment to Subaru’s Love Promise and for standing with MHHS in creating brighter futures for pets and their people.

Box of Goodies - Francesca L.

I teach second grade at Eagle Point Elementary in the Albany City School District. Early in September my class received a box of goodies (crayons, glue sticks, and other necessities) to share among my 24 students. We also received $500 to spend on various materials. One of my favorite purchases was the Storyworks subscription. With this Scholastic Magazine addition to my curriculum, my students are able to read and take home their own magazine each month. I can't thank Subaru enough for their generosity. Thank you!

TEAM 303 @ Eagle Point Elementary - George P.

Here at Eagle Point Elementary, we call our classroom Team 303 because we strive to build a community of learners and work together as a team. We are currently working together to pick and choose items that will assist our learners and make our classroom the best learning environment it can possibly be! We are VERY GRATEFUL to Goldstein Subaru for the generous donation and we THANK YOU very much!

Thank you Furry Friends Pet Food Pantry - Kate B.

I have bought and serviced my Subarus for many years at Goldstein Subaru. The last few years have been tough for my family with the loss of a job and trying to keep the family's needs met...including having very little money left at the end of the month for food for our dogs. I saw a huge display at Goldstein Subaru when I was in for service and remembered that they collect food and pet supplies to donate to Furry Friends Pet Food Pantry at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society. Many times when I needed a helping hand, I have been able to go into the shelter and get the food I need to be able to feed my pets. Thankfully things have gotten better, but I am so grateful that there are members of our community like Goldstein Subaru who really do care. Thank you from our family to yours! Kate B.

Goldstein Subaru Partners With The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Daniela V.

Every three minutes, a person in the U.S is diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma, or myeloma - blood cancers that often requires patients to endure difficult treatments that leave them feeling weak, cold, and isolated. Since 2016, Subaru has partnered with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) to provide warmth, love, and relief by delivering over 230,000 blankets along with patient care kits and encouraging messages of hope. Goldstein Subaru delivered 80 blankets and 50 patient care kits to New York Oncology Hematology (NYOH). We are proud to continue this partnership and look forward to many years to come. Thank you all for your continued support to our patients!

Subaru Loves to Help: Operation Warm Event at Trinity Place - Archie B.

Goldstein Subaru has proudly partnered with the Trinity Alliance of the Capital Region located at 15 Trinity Place Albany NY, a local support organization to help children & families in our community. Trinity Alliance is a major hub for coordinating and leveraging resources for residents in the most economically challenged neighborhoods. Some of the amazing services Trinity Alliance provides are: Active Parenting Workshop, Community Recovery, Empowerment Services, Early Childhood, Family Support, Foster Care Prevention Program, a Food Pantry for those in need that can choose from an assortment of food goods, and a community Baby shower for underserved parents who may not have the means to get all the necessities they need for their newborn’s arrival. They provide so much more and the list goes on. I was honored an invitation to go on tour with Goldstein Subaru’s owner Stefanie Goldstein to find out all of the amazing resources this place has to offer. Trinity Alliance has touched my heart in many ways. Goldstein Subaru through Subaru Loves to Help: Operation Warm has donated an astounding 288 new winter coats to Trinity Alliance in all variety of sizes for both boys and girls to relieve the expense for parents who may not have the means to buy one. While we were touring the facility the CEO of Trinity Alliance stated that all the materials for all of the programs they offer were taking up a ton of space, leaving no room or space for the employees to work out of. Stating their next project would be to look for storage space. Without hesitation Goldstein Subaru stepped up to the plate and offered to rent a storage space for Trinity Alliance, and that the expenses would be fully covered by Goldstein Subaru to relieve that burden so that way Trinity Alliance can continue their focus on more important things like the community. Seeing the empathy that the Goldstein Subaru Team has shown these people was very heartwarming and special to see. Thank you, Goldstein Subaru Team for always going above and beyond and never taking a step back from our community.

Schatzi-A Tale of Patience - Alison S.

When Schatzi came to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, it seemed as if the world was against him. Brought in by a Good Samaritan, Schatzi came in with another cat petrified and with a fresh wound on his neck. Schatzi did what he knew to do: he hid. To be extra cautious due to his neck wound, Schatzi was placed in a program that required extra monitoring and more restrictions to ensure he was healthy. He was placed in a room with another cat in the same program. These two cats bonded quickly. At first, they were both incredibly wary of all of the humans coming in and out. After about a month of regular interactions, Schatzi began to open up and actually began seeking out attention and affection from those coming into his room. Soon, he became the mayor of the cat floor. Everyone had to stop by and say hello! He even showed his roommate that humans weren't so scary. After a few months of being overlooked, the perfect family came in and scooped up this sweet boy. Goldstein Subaru has made this story possible. Without the support of Goldstein Subaru, MHHS would not have the time or ability to help these animals. With the support of Goldstein Subaru through myriad programs and most importantly Share the Love, MHHS knows that it has a reliable partner in the community multiplying its voice and message. MHHS is forever grateful for the partnership it has with Goldstein Subaru.

Schatzi Finds His Forever Home - Marguerite P.

Schatzi was a handsome 5-year-old tiger cat who came to us in March of 2023 with a large, ruptured abscess on his neck and two puncture wounds. Our vet team cleaned the wound and treated it with antibiotics and watched is closely until it was healed. Because Schatzi had lived with other cats and was an indoor/outdoor cat, we couldn’t be certain of what type of animal had bitten him. Therefore we had to follow some special rules, which included quarantine from other animals. He was made available for a foster-to-adopt trial, where the adopter would foster him until his quarantine period ended. When his foster-to-adopt family met him, Schatzi immediately warmed up to them. They took him home and made their adoption official in October at a Goldstein Subaru Adoption Event. Schatzi also has a new canine brother and are all very happy together.

Chili's Tale of Hope - Marguerite P.

Chili was a 7-year-old pup who came to us in March of 2023. She was suffering from a long-standing pyometra, a serious infection in the uterus. She was very ill. Untreated, this condition is life-threatening. Our vet team immediately spayed her and removed her uterus. Initially, her bloodwork was very abnormal due to the sepsis caused by the infection. Because she wasn’t feeling good when she arrived, she was nervous and a bit “spicy,” which is why we named her Chili. As she started feeling better, she began to trust our staff. With time and patience, she came to have many friends at the shelter. Our Behavior and Enrichment Team learned that Chili loved playing with puzzle toys and any food-related toy that would work her brain. They also worked with her on sharing her toys and food without becoming reactive. This is common with shelter dogs and our adoption counselors made sure to explain this behavior to potential adopters. In October, after 7 months in our care, Chili found her forever home at one of our Goldstein Subaru Adoption Events. She went home with someone who understood her background and her behavioral needs. Her new family reports that she is doing wonderfully!

Subaru Loves to Care with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society - Brooke H.

In a heartwarming partnership, Goldstein Subaru and The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) have combined forces to make a tangible difference in the lives of those undergoing cancer treatment. Goldstein Subaru has proven to be a beacon of generosity and care, demonstrating a genuine commitment to our shared mission of creating a world free from blood cancer. Together, with the support of NYOH, Goldstein Subaru has generously contributed 80 comforting blankets to the patients who are undergoing treatments, often spending long hours in the infusion center. These blankets serve as a symbol of warmth and solidarity, enveloping patients with a sense of comfort during their journey towards recovery. Recognizing the significance of easing the journey for patients, Goldstein Subaru has generously offered 50 patient care kits. These kits encompass essential items that enhance the comfort and well-being of patients during their hospital stays. These thoughtfully curated care kits provide not only practical support but also convey a message of care and understanding. Moreover, the outpouring of love and encouragement from Subaru customers has been truly heartening. Their heartfelt messages of hope and inspiration, collected by Goldstein Subaru, have been a source of comfort and strength for the patients at NYOH. These messages remind patients that they are supported by a caring community, and that they are not alone in their battle. LLS extends its deepest gratitude to the entire Goldstein Subaru family for embodying the spirit of compassion and for standing by us in our commitment to eradicate blood cancer. Your dedication serves as a powerful example of what can be achieved when a community rallies together to make a difference. The impact of your support reaches far beyond the material contributions; it is a testament to the strength of human connection and the capacity for kindness. On behalf of the patients, their families, and the entire LLS community, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to Goldstein Subaru. Your partnership demonstrates that together, we can illuminate the path towards healing, hope, and a future free from blood cancer.

Pet Safety & Care - Samatha P.

I have been a customer of Goldstein for many years and will continue. They don't only take care of their customers they care about the well being of pets. Most recently I visited to drop off food for their pet pantry and noticed they have a great pet display in one of their cars. I learned that Subaru offers safety harnesses and ramps for pets. I have followed the Goldstein Subaru journey donating and volunteering at the Mohawk Humane Society, without all that Goldstein Subaru does I'm not sure all the pets would be able to be nursed back to health and find their forever home. Goldstein Subaru also has a year long bottle redemption program where the proceeds also go to the shelter. What a great thing to do for the community. I'd like to add that through the pandemic many pets were surrendered to the shelter, Goldstein made sure they continued their support through it all. Please take time to visit Goldstein for your car needs and remember to bring pet supplies when you do for the Pet Pantry! Love Goldstein Subaru!

Subaru Loves All Pets - Alison S.

Sweet Asha came to the shelter in a very bad way. She was 10-weeks-old and had already survived a vicious beating from a child and we weren't sure she would make it. Asha was determined to prove us all wrong. She never once considered giving up. She was all puppy energy and positivity from the moment she realized she was safe. After some time healing and growing in a foster home, Asha was adopted within a day of becoming available. This sweet girl lives up to her name every day. Asha means "alive and well." She was determined to prove her name right and her abuser wrong. Asha now gets to spend every day getting spoiled with her new parents and canine sibling. Subaru Loves Pets helps support the care and adoption of dogs like Asha, and for that, Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is so grateful.

Every (Sun)Flower Has Its Day - Alison S.

Sunflower came to Mohawk Hudson Humane Society as a stray in August 2021. From the moment she walked in the doors, it was clear she needed a lot of attention. Sunflower is a senior, at over 10 years old. After being seen by the veterinarian, Sunflower was diagnosed with a heart murmur, luxating patellas (moving kneecaps), dental disease, had an underlying endocrine disorder, and was not fit enough to be put under anesthesia for a spay. While Sunflower had all of these medical needs, it was clear shew as still a happy girl. Knowing that adopting a dog with this many medical issues can be difficult and she may not have a lot of time left, Sunflower was placed in the CrossRoads program, a hospice adoption program at MHHS. This program allows animals that may be towards the end of their lives to know love, safety, and comfort for however long they have left. It takes very special people to adopt an animal in the CrossRoads program, but they are often some of the best. Sunflower first went to a foster home, and then was adopted by her foster family. Support from Goldstein Subaru allows these programs to thrive. Goldstein supports MHHS monetarily, with regular supply drives, and as a base for bottle and can donations. The relationship with Goldstein Auto Group is one that MHHS holds close to its heart, and feels so lucky to be Goldstein's hometown charity.

Exceptional Service Even When Service is Closed - Jackie G.

About 10 miles into my drive across Upstate NY last weekend (Sunday, 1/31/21), the low tire pressure light came on. I was concerned and stopped at two different rest stops to check my tires. They looked OK to me but each time I wanted to add air so that the light would go off, and each time I could not remove the covers from any of the air valves on the tires. Not only was it very cold outside, this was the first time I had tried to put air in my tires. You see I bought my brand new Subaru Outback in March 2020 and because of the pandemic have not driven it much. I continued my drive but was still uneasy because of the warning light. I wasn't sure what to do, and then I remembered great service I have received from various Subaru dealers over the years (I bought my first Subaru in 2012). So I looked for a dealer that was open Sunday as I drove east across the state and that brought me to Goldstein Subaru. Service was closed but Sales was open. While everyone welcoming and nice, I would like to especially acknowledge Aaron Butler. Not only did Mr. Butler loosen the covers on each tire valve for me, he showed me how to use the buttons on the steering wheel to decipher the warning signals and to see which tires needed air. He also explained that there was one person working in Service and that he would take care of my tires, and it would only take a few minutes. While I waited, Mr. Butler answered my questions about servicing a new car that hasn't been driven much from oil changes to updating the software. Soon my car was ready, tires filled and I was on my way. Subaru makes a great car, but the kindness and help from people like Mr. Butler will keep me a customer for life. Sincerely, Jackie George

Goldstein and MHHS Partnership - Alison S.

2020 is a year that no one could have anticipated. On top of COVID-19 upending all programs and services offered at the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society (MHHS), it also completely changed the lives of those reliant and seeking out the services and offered. After six weeks of shutdown, MHHS was slowly able to re-open all public-facing programs. The world MHHS re-opened to was very different than the one in which it had closed. More people were home and looking to adopt animals, and more people were hurting and needing help and assistance for pet food and pet health. The close relationship between Goldstein Subaru and MHHS has allowed MHHS meet both of these demands from the community. Goldstein Subaru has long been a supporter and sponsor of the Furry Friends Pet Food Pantry, and that has only increased in recent months. Despite the Goldstein Subaru show room not being open to the public, MHHS and Goldstein worked together to create successful adoption campaigns. Events have been switched back to MHHS, which gave more animals adoption potential, on top of supporting Goldstein Subaru as a strong community partner. Goldstein Subaru has been an incredible partner to MHHS since before COVID-19, and we know that the relationship will continue to grow. Goldstein has stood with MHHS through the unknown of 2020, and every being at MHHS is grateful.
